We are seeking an accomplished, forward-thinking Head of Corporate Governance to join the senior leadership team and play a central role in strengthening and developing the organisation's governance arrangements.

This is much more than a traditional company secretarial position. It is an opportunity for an energetic, commercially aware and collaborative leader to take ownership of a developing corporate governance function, establish effective structures and processes, and build a positive, high-performing team.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will work closely with the AGHS Board, Non-Executive Directors, senior colleagues and the parent NHS Trust, providing trusted advice while helping to shape the organisation's future governance arrangements.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a tangible difference from the outset, with several important priorities:

• Lead and develop a newly formed Corporate Services team, creating a positive, engaged and accountable culture, with a focus on supporting, motivating and developing colleagues.

• Establish and embed a Board Assurance Framework, providing the Board with clear visibility of strategic risks, controls and assurance.
• Develop the organisation's committee structure, including establishing a People Committee, with Remuneration Committee arrangements as required, and an Audit and Risk Committee.
• Lead the recruitment and appointment of a new Non-Executive Director to chair the Audit and Risk Committee.
• Review, refresh and strengthen governance arrangements within AGHS and across its relationship with Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, ensuring appropriate accountability, reporting and decision-making processes.
Alongside these priorities, you will act as the principal adviser to the AGHS Board on corporate governance, statutory compliance and company secretarial matters.
You will oversee the effective operation of Board and committee meetings, maintain robust governance policies and frameworks, support Board effectiveness and succession planning, and ensure the organisation meets its legal and regulatory obligations.
The role also provides leadership across corporate functions encompassing quality and assurance, communications and health and safety.
