Switchboard Operator Part Time - (Evenings and Weekends)
To provide a Switchboard Operator service 24/7 in handling all calls and communication within a busy hospital, healthcare setting ensuring a continued friendly and professional service in an at times busy environment.

Main duties of the job
To handle and manage all calls both internal and external within the hospital ensuring prompt and courteous service.
To operate and update when required internal bleep and long range pager systems (training provided) and updating information where required with the call databases and telephone directory.
To respond and ensure routine and nonroutine emergency calls are answered and relevant teams are communicated to attend any urgent events.
To respond and notify the correct teams for any fire alarm activations and security alarms.
To log all urgent maintenance and pest control requests via our estates helpdesk 24/7
To be able to work in a small team offering support to callers and at times having empathy and sympathy and remaining calm in handling some calls in a busy pressured environment.

Qualifications
- Willingness to undertake mandatory training and any other departmental training/qualification requirements
- Customer Service Training/Qualification
Knowledge
- Understanding of confidentiality
- Demonstrates an understanding of Dignity & Respect
- Understanding of Information Governance
Skills
- Ability to follow instructions bother verbal and written
Experience
- Operation of a multiline switchboard
- Previous experience working with public/customers and use of computer based programmes
- Previous experience of working in a hospital/healthcare environment
