Job Overview

We are recruiting for 2 part-time positions within our Decontamination Services Team, with specific working hours and weekend/Bank Holiday rotas.

Main duties

• Undertake decontamination duties and assist in providing specialised decontamination of medical devices, contributing to patient care.
• Record all tasks on the Health Edge computerised traceability systems.
• Work according to department instructions and Quality Management systems.
• Supervise Apprentice Decontamination Technicians.
• Plan workload with limited supervision.
• Work involves exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, or GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above.
• Basic Microbiology knowledge.

Experience/Knowledge

• Experience in healthcare or manufacturing environments.
• Customer relations experience, face-to-face and over the phone.
• Teamwork and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of health and safety, hygiene, and quality systems in healthcare.
• Experience in decontamination of medical devices.

Skills

• Basic IT skills.
• Basic English and Maths.
• Accuracy under pressure.

Personal Qualities

• Good communication skills.
• Positive attitude towards change.
• Interest in departmental aims.
