We’re looking for a Workshop Electrician based out of our Lomondgate depot.

What you’ll do:

  • Diagnose, fault‑find and repair a wide range of generators (portable to containerised) to restore safe, reliable operation.
  • Conduct load testing and commissioning on generators from 20–2000 kVA, recording results and verifying performance to specification.
  • Strip down, rewire and modify control panels and control modules—upgrading wiring, replacing components and updating schematics as required.
  • Inspect, repair and prepare HV transformers and high‑voltage cable installations, following safe isolation and testing procedures.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair AC loadbanks and program/validate control modules, working with three‑phase 415 V systems and engine electronic control modules where applicable.

You’ll have the following skills and experience:

  • Time‑served electrical engineer with demonstrable, hands‑on electrical experience and a clear electrical background.
  • SCQF Level 7 (SVQ Level 3) or time‑served/apprentice‑qualified with strong practical understanding of DC and AC controls, plus single‑ and three‑phase electrics.
  • Proven experience in control panel strip‑downs, rewires and electrical modifications, including reading and updating wiring diagrams.
  • Practical experience working on generators, plant or heavy equipment (HV, loadbanks or engine systems); knowledge of engine ECMs is a strong advantage.
  • Full, valid driving licence and excellent organisational and communication skills; able to manage workload, document work and liaise with clients or site teams.
