Bring your energy to Aggreko as an apprentice based in our Swindon depot. You’ll gain hands-on experience working alongside skilled engineers. Maintain, install, and repair all our equipment – from advanced power generation and battery storage to oil-free air and temperature control, while developing essential technical and safety skills.
At Aggreko, we are in the business of ‘on’. Power without pause. Heating, cooling and oil-free air without end. We keep our customers’ worlds on, from world-class events that last a few weeks to mining operations and remote communities who rely on us for decades.
Your day as an apprentice:
- No two days are the same. Each day begins with a team briefing focused on safety and priorities.
- You’ll work closely with a senior engineer on a wide range of tasks – from equipment preparation and installation to servicing and fault diagnosis.
- Throughout, you’ll build practical skills with hands-on support and guidance, always working safely to keep everyone safe.
What you’ll learn and do:
- Carry out maintenance, installation, and repair on power generation, battery storage, oil-free air equipment and temperature control equipment.
- Develop your knowledge and confidence using a range of hand tools.
- Diagnose faults and troubleshoot issues.
- Work safely to keep everyone safe.
- Collaborate with teams to deliver excellent service and contribute to key projects.
- Use IT tools like laptops and mobile devices to support your work.
- Balance practical work experience with college study towards a Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Technician qualification.
Program overview:
- Based at our Swindon depot (SN3 4ND).
- Day release to Wiltshire College (SN15 3QD).
- End qualification: Level 3, Engineering Maintenance Technician.
- Duration: 4 years.
- Starting salary: £18,720.
- Start date: August 2026.
