In this role you will strengthen Aggreko's financial control environment across the UKI & Events business, ensuring policy alignment, US GAAP and SOX compliance.

You will partner with regional and cross-functional teams to drive governance excellence and reliable financial reporting.

You will oversee audits and control remediation, shaping processes that support scalable, compliant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and strengthen the financial controls framework across the UKI & Events business, ensuring compliance with policies, US GAAP and SOX.
  • Support DOA, SOD, journal entry approvals, SOX evidence collection, and READ monitoring activities.
  • Coordinate Group external audits under US GAAP; act as primary liaison with auditors, finance teams, and Shared Service Centre.
  • Lead internal audit planning and support audit programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax reporting and statutory filing obligations.
  • Review and enhance balance sheet substantiation, reconciliation controls, and action tracking.
  • Drive process improvements and control remediation to strengthen the control environment.
  • Act as Security Champion back-up for financial data security and follow-up activities.
  • Partner with Regional Finance, Operations, Procurement, Tax, Treasury, IT and SSC to deliver consistent, compliant processes.
  • Promote accountability, governance, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Key requirements
  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in a US-controlled environment with US GAAP and SOX compliance.
  • 5-10 years of progressive accounting, controls, audit or finance leadership experience.
  • Experience in statutory reporting, external audit management, tax compliance and financial controls.
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing, withholding tax, treasury and cash management.
  • Strong analytical abilities and root-cause problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working across global organisations and diverse teams.
  • Confident communicator with stakeholder influence across levels and functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions).
  • Experience with global ERP systems and finance process transformation initiatives.
