- Deliver repairs and overhauls on time, to specification and budget - plan jobs, control costs, and ensure both individual work orders and overall department targets are met.
- Enforce safety and quality standards across all activities - follow and promote safe working practices and complete ISO-standard test and evaluation reports for refurbished/repaired generators.
- Own equipment upkeep and preparedness - perform total maintenance tasks, manage preventative schedules, and ensure required tools are available and in working order.
- Maintain materials and failure documentation - control stock levels of consumables/parts, record component failures, and produce clear fault and repair reports with recommended corrective actions.
- Support and grow the team - provide hands-on assistance, mentor and train service crew members, and contribute to continuous improvement to maximise equipment reliability.
- Educated to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering/mechanical subject (can include apprenticeship).
- Experience servicing and repairing large engines (generators, HGV, plant equipment, agricultural machinery).
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Good level of PC literacy, including basic MS Office applications.
- Well-organised and capable of keeping a vehicle to GSCS standards.
