Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Mechanical Workshop Engineer based in our Service & Repair team in our Lomondgate depot. As a Mechanical Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out hands-on servicing, maintenance, repairs, and fault finding, while also getting involved in basic installation and commissioning.
What you’ll do as a Mechanical Workshop Engineer:
- Carry out fault finding, repairs, and load testing on diesel generators (20–2000kVA), including major engine overhauls.
- Assess equipment condition on return from hire, completing upgrades, modifications, and improvements to maintain fleet quality.
- Work across AC/DC electrical systems, supporting diagnostics, ECM programming, and control module configuration.
You are:
- Time served apprentice or educated to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering/mechanical subject.
- Experience servicing, repairing large engines (generators, HGV, plant equipment, agricultural machinery).
- Good organisational & communication skills.
- Good level of PC literacy including basic MS Office applications.
- Well organised and capable of keeping vehicle to GSCS standards.
