The Opportunity. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead on various installations and advancements of equipment at our Cement Manufacturing site in Cauldon, Staffordshire. Onsite you’ll work directly with our Preventive and Reactive Maintenance teams to understand the areas of improvement required. Covering multiple projects simultaneously you’ll manage the full lifecycle of each project, from conception through to completion. You’ll work to design a solution to improve reliability or efficiency of mechanical equipment onsite.
We are investing in the modernisation and decarbonisation of this industry so have strong plans for CAPEX investments through improvement and new equipment installations. You’ll understand manufacturing processes and possess a technical aptitude to correctly implement projects and make technical recommendations to limit the effect to production whilst installations are underway. With a large variation of projects on site you’ll have the opportunity to lead on work in excess of £1m, so will build relationships across multiple internal and external stakeholders to see projects through to completion. You’ll be tasked to correctly identify and maintain relationships with suppliers for the supplier and/or installation process as well as work with internal teams to utilise onsite resources where available.
Who you are. You’ll have a Mechanical Engineering background, now looking to lead on projects in a manufacturing environment. You’ll excel in organisation, able to grasp and maintain control on various projects across this heavy industrial environment. You’ll understand how Mechanical equipment operates, able to make recommendations in projects whilst limiting downtime on existing equipment.
