The Opportunity
We’re looking for a reliable and safety-focused Night Plant Operative to join our team in Botley on a permanent night shift basis, working Sunday to Thursday, 20:30 - 06:00. This is a hands-on role within a close-knit night operations team, where you’ll primarily operate a loading shovel while supporting the wider plant operation and rail unloading activities across Botley. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, values teamwork and wants to build long-term skills within an essential industry. You’ll have the chance to learn additional areas of the operation, including asphalt plant activities and rail unloading, with full training provided. Overtime is regularly available, offering strong earning potential alongside development opportunities within the business.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operating loading shovel and mobile plant equipment safely and efficiently to support site operations
- Providing relief cover for rail unloading activities at Botley and Eastleigh depots (full training provided)
- Supporting housekeeping, cleanliness and general site standards across the plant
- Communicating closely with the wider night shift team to support production requirements
- Reporting defects, safety concerns or operational issues to site management
Who You Are
- You have a strong awareness of health, safety and environmental standards
- You’re reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a small night shift team
- You’re comfortable following written instructions and using basic IT systems
- You hold a full UK driving licence, as travel between Botley and Eastleigh may be required
- Experience operating mobile plant machinery is helpful, but not essential as full training will be provided
- You’re flexible and open to learning new skills, including rail unloading and asphalt operations
