This position provides a unique opportunity for a candidate with electrical and/or IT hardware and software qualifications to train to become a fully skilled DR X-ray Field Service Engineer. An FSE performs technical support for Agfa Healthcares imaging products. The employee will be based from home and will be trained in-house to be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and servicing of imaging equipment and associated ICT/electrical equipment.

The individual must be customer focused at all times, must be prepared to work alone and as part of a team, be able to interact well with colleagues, customers and third party trades in a professional and tactful manner, and in doing so present a positive image of the Company. Support and training will be provided in all modalities and will involve travel to Germany to undergo face to face, hands-on product training. Travel is also required within the UK to shadow skilled engineers and work with installation teams. This role will suit someone who is keen to use their electrical knowledge to develop a career in the medical equipment industry through a 3-4 year Development Plan.

Job role & responsibilities:

  • Problem-solving in a responsible and methodical manner whilst carrying out effective customer liaison skills to ensure total customer satisfaction.
  • Produce accurate and sufficiently detailed reports to ensure that the customer is kept informed about the work and to satisfy H&S compliance record keeping.
  • Observe and adhere to company health & safety guidelines and contribute to a healthy and safe working environment.
  • The ability to manage your own schedule when required for field based installations, corrective actions, upgrades and preventative maintenance.
  • Flexibility to work away from home as required.
  • To manage return of equipment and parts in a compliant timely manner to ISO and WEEE procedures.
  • To have an empathy to working within a medical environment.

Qualifications:

  • Degree, HND or similar in Engineering/Electronics.
  • Qualification in ICT or Computer Science or qualified by experience/apprenticeship.

Experience:

  • Some relevant work experience within a Service Engineer role would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be given.
  • Understanding of networking and remote diagnosis software systems.
  • Experience of working safely with electromechanical systems is essential.

Skills:

  • Able to fault find basic electronics to component level.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to use initiative.
