The Logistics Co-ordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of logistics to ensure spare parts and machines are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with the latest customs regulations and international trade requirements.
Tasks
- Coordinate day-to-day logistics operations in line with customs and trade regulations.
- Pick, pack, and dispatch consolidation shipments to the central spares hub, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Manage import clearances with third-party providers and ensure correct documentation.
- Obtain and evaluate machine and freight quotations to secure cost-effective transport solutions.
- Arrange spares, freight, and machine shipments, including preparation of export documentation.
- Optimise logistics processes across LCL, FCL, dangerous goods, and international freight movements.
- Maintain and update logistics procedures and work instructions.
- Ensure accurate use of HTS/HS codes, packing regulations, and country-specific export requirements.
- Represent the logistics function in internal meetings and provide shipment status updates.
- Work closely with freight agents, couriers, customs departments, and internal teams.
Required profile
- Experience in freight forwarding, shipment booking, and import/export documentation.
- Knowledge of HTS/HS codes, Incoterms, and export packing requirements.
- Experience with dangerous goods shipping (road and/or air) is an advantage.
- Proficiency in IT tools, especially Excel and Word.
- Experience in transporting large machinery by road, air, or sea is beneficial.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to work with different teams and external partners.
- Results-oriented, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.
