Agents of Tech is a show about AI filmed in Washington DC and London. The show is produced by an Emmy-award winning team. Episodes are released fortnightly and feature some of the most important figures in tech – including Nobel Prize Winners, the founder of Wikipedia, and leading AI researchers. Our audience consists of institutional decision makers – government officials, C-suite, policymakers, and investors. The show is all about the real-world impact of AI on society; topics we regularly cover include its economic impact, its effects on the workplace, its impact on geopolitics, how it compares to previous historical technological revolutions, and more.
Agents of Tech is growing quickly and will be releasing episodes weekly soon. To support this next phase, we are looking for an editorial lead with a journalism background to take the show to the next level. The aim of the show is to deliver new insights to the audience in each episode which may not have been covered elsewhere. We try to be ahead of the curve when it comes to the subject matter.
The Role
The role will involve finding and booking guests for the show and shaping the editorial of each episode. This includes ensuring guest alignment with the DNA of the show, tracking down, contacting and securing guests through any means possible, writing briefs for the hosts, co-ordinating availabilities, deciding the topic for each episode, and assisting with scripting.
We are looking for someone that has the desire to work on the frontlines of covering one of the greatest technological revolutions in history, and is committed to securing some of the most important figures in the world as guests (e.g. leaders of the top global tech companies, ex-Prime Ministers, Nobel Laureates). Agents of Tech is a fast-moving show that operates transatlantically with multiple workstreams and a lean team. A successful candidate will need the personal commitment, energy and ability to, at times, work independently and pragmatically with limited direct supervision.
Requirements
- Journalism background. You know how to research a subject, find an angle, and write a brief that gives a presenter everything they need.
- A strong understanding of technology and the current AI industry.
- Strong editorial judgement and understanding of what aligns with the DNA of the show. You can tell the difference between a topic that sounds interesting and one that would make for a valuable episode.
- Tenacious and resourceful.
- Comfortable working independently across time zones with limited supervision.
- Excellent written communication. Your briefs, outreach emails, and editorial notes need to be sharp.
- Ability to manage multiple bookings and editorial workstreams simultaneously without dropping things.
Responsibilities
- Research, identify, and secure high-profile guests for the show through cold outreach, personal networks, PR contacts, or whatever it takes.
- Shape the editorial direction for each episode: decide the topic, the angle, and discussion points that will surface something new from the guest.
- Write detailed briefs for the hosts ahead of each interview, including background research on the guest, suggested discussion points, and the editorial through-line.
- Track the AI and technology landscape closely so the show stays ahead of the conversation, not behind it.
- Co-ordinate guest availabilities across time zones and manage the booking pipeline from first contact to confirmed filming date.
- Assist with scripting intros, outros, and any narrated segments.
- Work with the production team to ensure editorial and production timelines stay aligned.
- Maintain and grow a contacts book of PRs, agents, chiefs of staff, and other gatekeepers.
- Contribute to longer-term editorial planning: season arcs, thematic threads, guest mix across episodes.
Nice to have
- Existing contacts in the AI, technology, or policy world.
- Experience working on broadcast television or high-production-value interview-based content (not just print/online).
- Interest in or knowledge of AI and its broader societal implications.
- Experience working in a small, fast-moving team.
- Familiarity with the kinds of people and organisations that appear on the show (tech companies, research labs, government, think tanks).
Meetings
This is a hybrid role – 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH. You will be required to be in the office on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays for regular meetings.
