We’re looking for a highly skilled and people-focused Head of Pricing (Motor) to play a pivotal role in shaping our pricing strategy and capability. In this leadership position, you’ll combine deep analytical expertise with commercial insight to drive trading performance, lead the development of advanced pricing models, and influence key business decisions. You’ll be responsible for motivating and developing a high-performing team, translating strategic objectives into actionable pricing initiatives, and collaborating with senior stakeholders across the business to deliver sustainable, data‑driven outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high‑performing pricing team, ensuring delivery of objectives and continuous professional growth.
  • Translate business objectives into clear pricing strategies, activities, and projects that drive commercial performance.
  • Oversee and provide direction on advanced pricing analysis, including forecasting, optimisation, and predictive modelling.
  • Monitor trading performance, risk mix, and loss metrics, making informed decisions on priorities and pricing actions.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across underwriting, finance, claims, and operations to influence decision‑making and secure approvals.
  • Ensure all pricing models and activities meet regulatory requirements and fair value standards, acting as a key governance lead.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong analytical capability, supported by a numerical degree or equivalent experience, with the ability to interpret complex data and drive insight.
  • Proven experience developing and deploying statistical pricing models (e.g. GLMs, GBMs or similar techniques).
  • Demonstrable leadership experience, with the ability to manage, coach, and develop high‑performing technical teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience influencing senior decision‑makers.
  • Strong data manipulation and technical skills, with experience using tools such as SQL, Python, SAS or pricing software (e.g. Radar, Emblem).
  • Solid understanding of governance, regulatory requirements, and fair value considerations within pricing environments.
