We’re looking for a driven and experienced leader to join our team as a Claims Fraud Operations Team Leader on a 12-month secondment. In this role, you will lead a predominantly motor, first-party fraud team, while also working closely with our home claims, ensuring a consistent and effective approach to fraud prevention across both areas. You will be responsible for identifying, investigating and preventing fraudulent claims, helping to minimise risk and protect our customers and business. Combining strong technical expertise with inspirational leadership, you’ll drive consistent decision-making, improve team capability and deliver against key fraud performance targets. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence strategy, enhance operational effectiveness and play a key role in shaping our counter-fraud approach.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day activity across all Claims Fraud Operations workstreams, ensuring efficient delivery and workload prioritisation.
- Deliver against key performance metrics including savings targets, nil settlements, referrals and regulatory reporting.
- Provide technical expertise and governance, ensuring claims are validated and evidence is compiled in line with policy, regulation and legislation.
- Coach, mentor and develop team members to improve capability, quality and overall performance.
- Conduct audits and quality reviews, approving repudiations and ensuring consistency of decision-making across cases.
- Drive continuous improvement and counter-fraud initiatives, using data insights to identify trends and inform strategy.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in fraud investigation within a claims environment, with leadership, team management or mentor responsibility.
- Strong technical knowledge of claims handling (first and third party), fraud risk and detection systems within a motor environment, knowledge of home is advantageous.
- Knowledge of conversation management or Digilog.
- In-depth understanding of FCA regulations, GDPR and financial crime frameworks.
- Ability to analyse data, identify patterns and trends, and develop effective fraud prevention strategies.
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and lead teams.
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to make sound decisions in complex situations.
