Contract Type: 12 month FTC, full time, part time options available

Salary Range: c. £60,000 depending on experience

Location: Eastleigh / Hybrid

Travel: You will be expected to attend our office in Eastleigh 1 day per week, along with any additional adhoc days depending on business need

We’re looking for a Compliance Consultant to join Ageas UK on a 12-month fixed term contract, supporting our business areas on a hybrid basis with monthly travel to our Eastleigh office. In this role, you will provide pragmatic compliance advice and support across business-as-usual activities and key projects, acting as a trusted partner to ensure key regulatory requirements are understood by stakeholders, embedded and effectively managed.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide pragmatic, forward-thinking compliance advice to support business-as-usual activities and strategic projects, ensuring regulatory risks are effectively identified and managed.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on regulations applicable to general insurance, interpreting and embedding legal and regulatory requirements across the business.
  • Support the Director of Compliance and Head of Compliance in managing and maintaining effective relationships with regulators, ensuring open communication and timely handling of any regulatory matters.
  • Provide input and challenge in the completion of product governance and fair value assessments by the business, ensuring that Ageas UK is able to demonstrate that products deliver good outcomes for customers and meet regulatory expectations.
  • Review and approve financial promotions and customer communications, ensuring they are compliant, clear and align with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor, assess and report on compliance risks and incidents, putting in place appropriate mitigation actions and supporting continuous improvement across the organisation.

Skills and experience you need:

  • Proven experience in a compliance role within General Insurance, with a strong understanding of the UK regulatory landscape and FCA requirements.
  • Understanding of Gibralator regulations desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing relationships with regulators, ensuring effective communication and handling of regulatory queries or reviews.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them practically within a business environment.
  • Experience of drafting high-quality governance papers, reports and MI for senior stakeholders and committees.
  • Confident communicator with experience liaising, influencing and challenging senior stakeholders across the business.
  • Comfortable representing Compliance at forums and committees, with the credibility and presence to provide clear, pragmatic advice and challenge where required.
