Salary Range: £48,000 – £60,000 depending on experience
Location: You will be expected to travel to our office in Eastleigh on average one day per month

Overview
Data Protection Consultant at Ageas, supporting the data protection framework and helping the business move fast and safely with cutting-edge data and AI initiatives. You will work with the business on strategic projects to identify and mitigate data protection risks while ensuring compliance and enabling innovation.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide clear, risk-based data protection advice to all areas of the business for both business as usual and change activity.
- Provide expert, up-to-date advice on UK GDPR, DPA 18, PECR, and relevant AI guidance to support compliant business practices.
- Partner with senior stakeholders on strategic projects, supporting Data Protection Impact Assessments and identifying key risks.
- Deliver clear, pragmatic risk opinions—verbally and in writing—to enable informed decision-making across the business.
- Support and maintain core compliance processes including RoPA, LIA, DPIA, Transfer Risk Assessments, and Responsible AI Assessments.
- Drive continuous improvement of the data protection framework, conduct assurance activities, and escalate key risks as needed.
- Lead training, manage issue resolution (including ICO complaints), monitor regulatory changes, and contribute to governance reporting.
Skills and Experience
- Must hold relevant data protection qualification e.g. CIPPE/M, Data Protection Practitioner.
- Must have expert knowledge of relevant data protection regulation, including the UK GDPR, DPA 18, PECR and relevant AI guidance.
- Previous experience working in a data protection advisory role within financial services is preferred but not essential.
- Experience working with privacy management systems e.g. OneTrust is preferable but not essential.
- Experience of completing and maintaining key processes that support data protection compliance including DPIAs, ROPAs, Legitimate Interest Assessments, Transfer Risk Assessments and Responsible AI Assessments.
- Experience in communicating with stakeholders both verbally and in written reports to all levels including senior management.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and provide support across multiple projects and competing deliverables.
