Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement? Ageas UK is seeking a dedicated and analytical individual to join our Finance team. You will play a key role in supporting the monthly close process, preparing financial statements, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting across our UK entities. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our core reporting requirements and support key strategic projects.
Main Responsibilities as Accountant:
- Support the control and delivery of the monthly close process for Ageas UK entities, ensuring accurate transaction recording and valid balance sheet entries.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting and reconciliation of the consolidated IFRS balance sheet to Group and senior management monthly.
- Prepare first-level financial information for various stakeholders within the UK group.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external tax requirements across all business taxes (excluding payroll).
- Assist in preparing the annual financial statements, liaising with external auditors and internal reviews.
- Review monthly close processes and procedures to identify operational improvements and update controls accordingly.
- Support the team with ad hoc queries, projects, and knowledge development.
- Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including Actuarial, Underwriting, Payroll, and other Finance departments.
Skills and Experience Needed:
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
- Understanding of technical accounting principles and their application.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Experience with Oracle E1 (general ledger) and IBM Cognos TM1 (reporting) is desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality outputs.
- Strong numerical skills with the ability to interpret and resolve financial data inconsistencies.
- Good organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize workflows.
