Ageas/esure are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer, with a strong background in software testing, to be a key contributor within an Agile, product‑focused squad, ensuring that high‑quality, reliable and secure software is delivered at speed to support business objectives. Working within complex system landscapes and modern engineering frameworks, the role plays a crucial part in identifying risks early, upholding testing standards and driving continuous improvement.
Main Responsibilities as Senior Quality Engineer:
- Assess changes and ensure suitable manual and automated test coverage aligned to Ageas and esure standards.
- Highlight and manage any risks to quality or testing standards.
- Act as a proactive senior member of the QA community.
- Contribute to testing and tech forums, driving improvements and automation within the squad and wider teams.
- Be a testing expert and team lead helping to build software and customer experiences that support Ageas business strategy.
Skills and experience you need as Senior Quality Engineer:
- Strong programming skills in Java (or similar modern language) with understanding of object‑oriented design, clean coding and refactoring.
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test solutions across UI, API and integration layers.
- Experience testing large enterprise systems, including front‑office (CRM/policy admin), middleware, APIs and back‑office platforms.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within cross‑functional engineering teams.
