At Ageas, we are continuing to build a strong data-driven culture, and we are looking for a Data Governance Analyst – Metadata to join our growing Data Governance team. This role sits within our metadata pillar, where you will help deliver and evolve metadata services that enable trusted, well-managed and discoverable data and AI products across the organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with leading tools such as Collibra and Databricks Unity Catalog, developing strategic data capability that directly contributes to business decision-making and data and AI enablement.
Operating in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will play a hands-on role in supporting delivery, coaching stakeholders, and helping translate data governance solutions into clear business value—while developing your expertise in a highly visible and evolving team. Main Responsibilities:
- Support the successful planning and delivery of the metadata roadmap, whilst taking on and owning deliveries within it.
- Develop new capabilities within Collibra and Unity Catalog to enhance the maturity of data governance tools, with a focused objective on helping to maximise tooling capability and value for the organisation.
- Work with Data Owners and Stewards to enable data delivery and quality governance outcomes through new and enhanced tooling capability.
- Promote metadata tooling value by demonstrating features and capabilities to Data Owners and Data Stewards.
- Identify improvements and process automation capabilities in data processes through development and application of metadata tooling.
- Coach business stakeholders on the importance and value of business context in metadata management, whilst connecting business context to technical metadata management processes and platforms.
Skills and Experience:
- Data Governance Knowledge: Strong understanding of data governance best practice and purpose and value of metadata management. DAMA qualification desirable.
- Tooling Experience: Hands-on experience with Collibra or similar tooling (Informatica, Atacama, Alation etc) and an awareness of Databricks Unity Catalogue.
- Business Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts in simple, value-led terms that are easily understood by non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Thrives in changing environments and evolving requirements.
- Growth Mindset: Ambitious, eager to learn, and build technical expertise and skill in data and AI governance.
