We are recruitingfor a Van Driver to cover Winsford and the surroundingCheshire area on a 3 month Fixed Term Contract!

Age UK’s shops are the face of the charity. On high streets up and down the country our retail staff and volunteers deliver a great shopping experience to customers, while generating much needed income for the charity, ensuring we can provide services and support to older people who need it most.

This role provides an important service to our shops by collecting, transferring and delivering stock from one shop to another, thereby ensuring that stock is at the right shop, at the right time in the most cost and time efficient manner.

This role will also be responsible for collecting stock from specific locations as requested and moving furniture within or across areas as required.

This role is physically demanding and will require frequently lifting and moving heavy items of stock and furniture, often up and down stairs, as premises dictate.

Please note that this role is subject to a DBS check.

To ensure the smooth running of our stores, we will be conducting interviews throughout the advertising process. Early applications are advised.

  • Full current driving licence (A, I)

  • The ability to attend meetings and training as required (I)

  • Ability to fulfil the stock-handling requirements of the role, including moving items weighing up to 10kg, with reasonable adjustments where needed (I)

Any other details

On occasion there may be a requirement for a flexible approach, working additional days to cover holidays and sickness or to participate in trading outside of normal shop hours e.g. shop events.

Please note many Age UK shops are split-level; please get in touch if you want to discuss accessibility in the shop you are applying to.

On occasion you may be required to carry out long drives, stay overnight and work nationally where required.

Additional Information
