JOB TITLE: Care Assistant – Day Care for people with Complex Needs

JOB PURPOSE:

To assist in the provision of a service for older people with complex needs, contributing to the quality of care and support provided to service users, responsible to the Day Care Team Leader, and within the established policies and procedures of Age UK Stafford & District.

JOB DESCRIPTION

1* Direct Services*

1.1 To assist in the delivery of the day to day, day care service, directed by the Day Care Team Leader, to meet the needs of service users and carers.

1.2 To assist in the delivery of a programme of meaningful activities tailored to each individual\’s needs.

1.3 To assist service users in their personal care needs.

1.4 To assist in the support of carers, relatives and friends during visits to the service area.

1.5 To use effective communication skills for the benefit of service users and their carers.

1.6 To assist generally in the maintenance of the environment in which the service is carried out.

1.7 To ensure the dignity, privacy and independence of individual service users.

2* Administration*

1.2 Be actively involved in implementing service users care plans and maintaining

records.

General Information

It is expected that the post holder will have a flexible attitude towards working patterns and practices to meet the changing needs of the service and business needs of the organisation. Any variations will be consistent with the level of responsibility contained within this job description.

The post holder is required to attend and contribute to team meetings, supervision and appraisal sessions and attend training sessions relevant to the role.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: £12.21-£12.31 per hour
