Age UK shops are the face of the charity.
On high streets up and down the country, our retail teams deliver a great shopping experience to customers while generating income for Age UK to support older people in need.
This role is for a Shop Supervisor who will contribute to maximising shop sales and profits and support the day-to-day running of the shop.
The successful candidate will deputise for the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager in their absence and represent Age UK in a professional manner reflecting our core values.
Responsibilities
- Deliver an excellent retail service and ensure every customer has a positive shopping experience.
- Support with sales, stock rotation, organising displays, store tidying and other shop tasks as required.
- Assist with the day-to-day running of the shop and deputise for the Shop Manager/Assistant Manager when needed.
- Maintain professional standards and reflect Age UK’s values in all interactions.
- Handle/lift bags of stock up to 10 kg when required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Experience of cash handling.
- Ability to lift and carry bags of stock up to 10 kg.
- Ability to work as part of an effective team and to lone work when needed.
- Flexible approach with a requirement to work additional days to cover holidays and sickness or to participate in trading outside normal shop hours (e. g., shop events) on a rota basis.
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences and gender issues, and commitment to equal opportunities.
- Working Arrangements
There is a 9-hour shift requirement across a 7-day working week, including Saturdays and Sundays on a rota basis.
