We are looking for a Falls Prevention Service Coordinator to increasing falls prevention awareness ensuring people aged 50+ in Barking and Dagenham are aware of and connected to local and national resources to stay active and healthy
As part of the programme, you will be developing and coordinating our programme of falls prevention exercise opportunities for older people in Barking & Dagenham including Otago, Chair Based Exercises, Tai Chi classes, Nordic Walking, etc.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support the extension of our existing Redbridge Falls Prevention Service in Barking & Dagenham
As the Falls Prevention Service Coordinator you will be responsible for delivering falls awareness sessions, recruitment of Exercise Instructors, service promotion and recruitment of beneficiaries. You will also be responsible for sourcing suitable venues across Barking & Dagenham to deliver the exercise classes, ensure accurate data collection and monitoring for the service and facilitate access to services available in the community
As part of the project you will be line managing the Trusted Assessor working on the programme to support people aged 50+ access small aids and adaptations to reduce the risk of falls and liaising with other key staff working on the project including Voices of Experience Coordinator and Nail Cutting Technician to ensure successful delivery of the project
We require experience and understanding of proactive community approaches to support older people to keep active and experience of working in either health, social care or voluntary sector liaising with relevant professionals. You will need knowledge and interest in management of falls, good interpersonal skills, project management and data collection skills. You will also need good computer skills and abilities to use databases. An appropriate DBS Disclosure will be carried out for this post
