Our Community Ambassador Volunteer team will be made up of members of the communities in East Sussex who can get out and about delivering event and activity posters, and other types of promotional materials in their area. We have a list of supermarkets, libraries and other public buildings with high footfall where we want to display our materials., Visit each location on our distribution list at least once per month, ensuring that the community champion for each retailer/business displays our posters/flyers.
· Ensure that the Age UK East Sussex materials displayed in each location are tidy, attractive, and current.
· Remove any out-of-date posters/flyers from public noticeboards.
· Support the marketing team by attending events and fundraising initiatives.
AS A VOLUNTEER WE WOULD ASK YOU TO
· Hold a current clean driving licence and access to a car.
· Work between the hours of 10am and 3pm to best cover shops and high footfall areas, avoiding seasonal hours of darkness.
· Be available to volunteer for at least one regular shift each month.
· Be available to cover the entire distribution route each month.
· Have a pleasant and friendly manner.
· Be confident liaising with a wide cross-section of people.
· Be trustworthy and reliable.
· Have excellent communication skills.
· Adhere to Age UK East Sussex confidentiality and equal opportunities policies, maintaining discretion and confidentiality at all times.
· Attend all training and information days, group meetings and supervision.
AS A VOLUNTEER WE WILL OFFER YOU
· Flexible hours – the position will be remote with occasional in-person meetings or events.
· An induction and ongoing training with support sessions if required.
· Reimbursement of out of pocket travelling expenses.
· Full recognition of the time, energy and skills volunteers freely give – for example long service and merit awards.
