Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove is seeking a compassionate and organised Independent Living Coordinator to support the delivery of our Help at Home, Hospital and community support services for older people. Guided by our VIP values – Valued, Included and Passionate – you will carry out home visits, assessments, reviews and quality monitoring, ensuring independent living services are safe, reliable and person centred.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete customer assessments and reviews, identifying needs, risks and individual requirements
- Respond to customer enquiries and manage telephone calls, referrals and signposting
- Liaise with external agencies and internal teams to coordinate appropriate support
- Match customers with suitable helpers or volunteers and resolve service issues
- Carry out home social support visits to ensure service quality and customer satisfaction
- Collect annual administration fees where appropriate
- Ensure services operate in line with Health & Safety requirements, policies and procedures
- Contribute to service improvement and attend meetings and training as required
- Support the safety and wellbeing of customers, staff, helpers and volunteers
- Undertake additional reasonable duties as requested, including occasional office opening or locking up
About You

- A genuine interest in supporting older people or vulnerable adults (any relevant experience is welcomed but not essential)

- A sensitive and flexible approach when working with customers, families, volunteers and professionals

- The ability to work independently, while also being a supportive and reliable team member
