Child Personal Assistant Required
We are looking for a caring, reliable, and energetic Personal Assistant to support an 11-year-old boy with complex and multiple needs. He is a loving child with a cheeky sense of humour and enjoys being active and out in the community. The client is non-verbal and communicates using Makaton and gestures. He can occasionally display challenging behaviour if in the wrong sensory environment. He is a wheelchair user for safety, security, and comfort, although he can walk and run (with reins for safety).
Responsibilities
- Provide 2:1 supervision and support to access the community
- Support attendance at activities such as swimming, soft play, parks, and other energetic outings
- Assist with personal care and toileting
- Support with feeding
- Ensure safety and wellbeing at all times
Essential Requirements
- Young or young at heart with a fun, energetic approach
- Full UK driving licence (use of mobility vehicle available if over 25)
- Non-smoker
- Enhanced DBS (cost covered by client)
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Experience working with children with additional needs
