We are seeking a reliable, caring, and experienced Personal Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a 15‑year‑old female with complex needs in her home and community setting. The successful candidate will support with personal care, daily routines, and mealtime assistance, ensuring the young person's safety, dignity, and wellbeing at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Support with personal care, including showering and hygiene
- Hair washing
- Dressing for school and undressing after school
- Assistance and supervision during mealtimes
- Support during hydrotherapy/drainage sessions (hydro pool sessions)
- Provide calm, patient, and respectful care
- Follow care plans and maintain a safe environment
- Communicate effectively with family and other professionals as required
Working Hours
Monday to Friday: Morning 7:00 am – 8:30 am; Afternoon 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm. Every other Sunday 9:30 am – 1:30 pm.
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs
- Comfortable providing personal care to a young person
- Patient, compassionate and trustworthy
- Reliable and punctual
- Enhanced DBS check paid by employer
- Female support worker preferred due to personal care requirements
Desirable
- Previous experience working with children or young people with additional needs
- Knowledge of hydrotherapy support would be useful
- Relevant care qualifications or willingness to work towards them
