Age UK North Yorkshire Coast & Moors is an independent charity but part of the Age UK family. We work with other Age UK partners and our national charity to increase our impact on the over 50s, providing services that are exactly what our residents need here.

OUR WELLBEING TEAM

Our team is currently made up of four groups: the Scarborough Memory Project, Gift of Friendship befriending project, our Social Prescribers and our Move and More Workers. Social Prescribing is a holistic service that enables individuals to look at the bigger picture of all the factors impacting their lives.

Our Move and More Workers help individuals over the age of 65 to improve their levels of strength, balance, mobility, and coordination in a friendly, social group. Our Gift of Friendship and Scarborough memory projects are coordinated befriending projects that help reduce social isolation and loneliness.

WHAT ARE YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES?

The main priority of your role is to provide face-to-face and remote employability support to adult economically inactive and employed participants. The main responsibilities include:

  • Deliver employability support to economically inactive participants within the Scarborough and Ryedale Districts.
  • Provide support and mentoring including Group Workshops, diagnostic assessments, and in-work support.
  • Develop working relationships with community organisations and other suitable organisations to generate referrals.
  • Achieve targets based on contractual requirements.
  • Support a caseload of Economically Inactive participants using a case management approach.
  • Ensure all participant interactions are recorded on the management information system.
  • Continuously track the economically inactive participant journey to achieve relevant outcomes.

The general responsibilities include:

  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the role.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We require a DBS check prior to commencing work. We look for the following skills and qualities:

  • Knowledge of local labour markets and barriers to employment.
  • Understanding of customer service and relationship management.
  • Good knowledge of employment, training, and personal development support opportunities.
  • Recent experience of working with adults in a related field.
  • Experience of working in a target-driven environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel within the area.
