Age UK North Tyneside is looking for a Dementia Activity Coordinator to design and deliver engaging, stimulating group sessions that help individuals live well with dementia. £25,587-£27,251 (Pro-rata) to 21 Hours
What you’ll do:
- Plan and deliver dementia-friendly activity sessions across North Tyneside that are fun, engaging, and follow best practice guidelines.
- Facilitate groups and one-to-one support, helping people living with dementia and their carers access activities and their communities.
- Provide emotional support and practical advice, signposting to other services where appropriate.
- Coordinate and supervise volunteers, ensuring activities run smoothly and align with organisational values.
- Risk assess venues and maintain compliance with Health & Safety and GDPR standards.
- Monitor and review customer needs, adapting sessions to ensure they remain meaningful and person-centred.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and feedback to improve service quality.
- Network with local agencies, representing Age UK North Tyneside and promoting dementia care skills within the organisation.
- Support training and development for colleagues and volunteers in dementia care.
- Assist with triage and assessment, identifying individuals who may benefit from the programme.
What we’re looking for:
- At least 2 years’ experience working with people with dementia and/or their carers.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
- Strong communication and IT skills.
- Training in Cognitive Stimulation Therapy or similar dementia care approaches.
Desirable:
- Experience in carer support, person-centred care, and volunteer supervision.
- Experience of case management.
