We are actively looking for a Treasurer to join Age UK MST's Board. This role will be at the heart of our organisation, supporting with oversight of our budgeting, planning, forecasting and investments - alongside direct involvement in our governance, reporting and financial decision-making.
Your skills will be invaluable in strengthening Age UK Maidstone, Sevenoaks and Tonbridge's financial resilience and governance. You'll be a key player in helping us to ensure we make the right decisions to plan for the organisation's future, ensuring that people in our communities continue to have access to the services they depend on. You'll also play a crucial part in identifying financial risks and opportunities early, allowing us to respond thoughtfully and forward-plan so that we can meet challenges and opportunities effectively.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who has experience in finance, accounting or financial oversight, and feels comfortable applying this knowledge in a governance context. This may include professional experience in finance, accounting, audit, business leadership or charity finance. Previous experience as a Trustee or Treasurer is welcome but not essential. The most important qualities are the ability to understand financial information, ask thoughtful questions that prompt discussion, and ensure the Board and wider Senior Leadership Team have support to understand financial matters clearly. You should be comfortable working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders across our organisation and be supportive and approachable as you work closely with our finance team.
What will you be doing?
Age UK Maidstone, Sevenoaks and Tonbridge are looking for a Treasurer to bring strong and reliable financial leadership to our organisation – supporting both our Board of Trustees and our Senior Leadership Team across a variety of financial decisions.
- You will support our budgeting and planning to ensure we are making investments in the best areas for the organisation.
- You’ll play an essential part in our forecasting, ensuring that forecasts are accurate and reliable.
- You’ll support the day‐to‐day governance and reporting for the charity.
- You’ll provide expert advice and guidance with financial decision‐making to ensure we make the right decisions.
