We are recruiting an experienced Project Manager to lead the implementation and delivery of our 85th anniversary heritage project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Project Overview
The project aims to discover, record, document and make available the history of Age UK Lancashire and older people’s experiences of ageing through the generations, since 11th December 1941. It will culminate in a digital archive, film, book, and a time capsule capturing young people’s perceptions of ageing.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a comprehensive project plan covering research, oral histories, digital archive, publication, film production, community engagement and time‑capsule creation.
- Lead day‑to‑day operational delivery, ensuring milestones, budgets and reporting requirements are met.
- Recruit, support and coordinate volunteers for oral history interviews, research tasks and events.
- Build and maintain relationships with heritage organisations, schools, youth groups, libraries, museums, local historians and community partners.
- Oversee discovery, research and documentation of the organisation’s 85‑year story in Lancashire.
- Plan and deliver events celebrating the project, including launch events, community gatherings, storytelling sessions and anniversary celebrations.
- Produce evaluation reports demonstrating achievements, learning and future recommendations.
- Establish a sustainable legacy plan to enable staff and volunteers to continue oral‑history and archiving activities beyond the project.
Qualifications
- Experience managing time‑limited multi‑phase projects with diverse stakeholders.
- Creative approach to project delivery.
- Experience in engagement and networking.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage across all age groups.
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities when working with older people and volunteers.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently.
- Excellent organisational skills with an eye for detail.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
- Full valid driving licence and access to a car for business purposes.
