Energy Advice Service – Service Administrator

Are you looking for a varied and rewarding role where you can help lead a service that makes a real difference to the lives of older people by helping them stay warm, safe and independent in their homes? If so, we are looking to recruit a Service Administrator to support the delivery of our new countywide Energy Advice Service. This new service will support vulnerable households across Lancashire by providing energy advice, practical support and energy-saving measures that reduce fuel poverty and improve wellbeing.
As a Service Administrator, you will have the opportunity to provide efficient and professional administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the project funded through the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme. You will be the first point of contact for referrals and enquiries, helping coordinate appointments and ensuring accurate records and reporting are maintained.
As a Service Administrator you will:
- Manage incoming referrals and enquiries from partners, service users and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate diaries and book home visits for Energy Advisers to ensure the service runs efficiently and responsively.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the CRM system while ensuring client confidentiality.
- Prepare reports and support monitoring processes to evidence service outcomes and impact.
- Track the distribution of resources and completed energy-saving installations.
- Support the collection of data for service evaluation and reporting.
- Provide general administrative support to the project team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the service.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be able to demonstrate a person-centred approach when communicating with clients by phone or email.
- Have a caring and empathetic attitude with a focus on helping people to maintain independence.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Possess strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Be confident using IT systems including CRM databases and Microsoft applications.
- Be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in line with GDPR.
- Have an understanding of safeguarding and information governance procedures.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team and support colleagues across the service.
- Hold a full valid driving licence and have access to a car for business purposes.
This role will involve working closely with the Energy Advice Service team, including the Service Manager, Energy Advisers and Handypeople, as well as liaising with community partners and other Age UK Lancashire services. Age UK Lancashire delivers services to over 12,000 older people each year, helping them maintain independence and enjoy choice and control over their lives. This is a hugely rewarding role for the right person.
