We know that our retail outlets are more than just shops - they are a hub of community activity. Customers do not visit us to simply browse and make purchases, but also to find a place where they can chat and find company as many of them have no one to talk to at home. As a Volunteer Shop Assistant, we need you to be the face at the very front-line of the charity, serving, advising and showing a genuine interest in our customer’s needs, or sorting and pricing incoming stock and making our window displays something really special and attractive to drive up sales.

What you will be doing:

  • Greet and thank customers in a polite and friendly manner
  • Assist customers in choosing items and actively promote sales
  • Replenish and display stock in the shop throughout the day
  • Receive donations and complete Gift Aid paperwork
  • Operating the till, handling cash and card payments
  • Assist in keeping the shop clean and tidy following the cleaning rota
  • Undertake other tasks as required by the Shop Manager

The skills you need:

  • A pleasant and friendly manner
  • Basic numeracy skills
  • An eye for detail
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
