It’s vital for an older person’s wellbeing to have access to affordable leisure and recreational facilities. As a volunteer at the Polegate Healthy Living Club, you will be a welcoming face within the Polegate Community Centre. You will get a chance to meet new people and work with an excellent team of volunteers. It’s important to us that we provide a warm, affordable, and enjoyable place for our clients and visitors to learn something new, socialise, and keep fit.
The club is open Tuesdays 14:00pm to 16:00pm alternate weeks. You will have a sociable attitude, be reliable and honest, empathic, a good listener, and have a love of meeting and greeting new people and an interest in health and wellbeing. No fitness skills, qualifications or background is required and you can learn many transferable skills which is ideal for work experience!
You will be presenting passion and interest in the health and wellbeing of clients, whilst ensuring all visitors feel welcome and valued when they visit and are supported on their fitness journey. You will also be multi-tasking by assisting with the setup of classes and getting involved with general fitness and a bit of administration.
You will need to be willing to maintain a good working knowledge of services and facilities provided by the club and be comfortable with assisting the lead volunteer. We will provide all the training and support that you need. It’s really easy to start the volunteering process with us.
