BASED AT: Ty Bargoed Newydd (Treharris)

HOURS: 20 hours per week (4-hour shifts across a 4-week rolling rota working one Saturday and one Sunday per month on separate weekends. Shifts scheduled between 9:00am and 6:00pm).

SALARY: £12.75 per hour

CONTRACT: Fixed Term until 31st March 2027

RESPONSIBLE TO: Dementia Matters Programme Manager

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

Working under the direction of the Care Home Manager, the post holder will be expected to work on their own initiative offering care home residents a programme of activities, support and encouragement to participate. Provide daily activities and support the service users’ independence based on their assessed need and capabilities at the home. Conduct activities involving older people to encourage and maintain past interests and introduce new ones.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide short and/or long-term practical and emotional support.
  • Carry out assigned tasks identified following an assessment of need.
  • Reassure, motivate and encourage service users enabling them to maintain their quality of life.
  • Maintain accurate and legible signed records.
