Age Connects Morgannwg is the leading charity working with older people living in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil (the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board footprint). We have a strong history with over 45 years of supporting older people and their families through some of the most difficult times in their life. We also have a proven track record of listening to older people, learning whatβs important to them and caring about the way they are treated, perceived, and portrayed.
About the Job
A new role as part of a team that will ensure every customer at any Cynon Linc Event has a positive experience and will want to return again and again. Under the direction of the Hospitality Manager, this role will help with preparation and setup of events throughout the year, large and small, for evenings and weekends, ensuring warm, welcoming, friendly, and efficient service whilst maintaining a high level of customer service, cleanliness, and service. This could involve setting up for a conference, bar service for a party/show, or table service for a sit-down dinner. As the front of house is the first impression, a friendly enthusiasm is essential.
General Responsibilities
- Operational
- Assist the Hospitality Manager with setting up and working booked events. This could mean setting up and laying tables, getting the bar ready for an evening show, or preparing the room for a buffet.
- Taking orders and processing payments made via card and cash.
- Take instruction from our Lead Chef when it is necessary to serve plates, using initiative to see and act when something needs to be done.
- Customer Service
- Maintain a clear customer focus, proactively developing and maintaining high standards of customer care.
- Take orders and make recommendations where they would be welcomed, introducing new dishes or specials, whilst noting any special requirements the customers may have.
- Ensure The Hub CafΓ© and/or Event room is compliant with the highest possible standards of safety, cleanliness, quality, and performance standards.
- Work closely with the Hospitality Manager to ensure the catering needs are met for all organisations hiring space at Cynon Linc in line with requirements.
