Age Connects Morgannwg is the leading charity working with older people living in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil (the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board footprint). We have a strong history with over 45 years of supporting older people and their families through some of the most difficult times in their life. We also have a proven track record of listening to older people, learning what’s important to them and caring about the way they are treated, perceived, and portrayed.
About the Job
We’re launching a brand-new initiative within Age Connects Morgannwg and looking for committed, compassionate casual Support Workers to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to help us achieve our goals by supporting individuals living within the community to feel connected and promote independence. We’re looking for support workers who are passionate about helping older people and want this service to grow. Your work will help older adults to live independent, happy, and fulfilling lives, while helping them feel a part of their community. Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of the Home First Programme Manager to provide practical and emotional support to older people to enable them to remain living independently in their own home for as long as possible.
- Supporting older people in their own home, Community, and other settings, to regain and retain their independence and feel connected to their community.
- To reassure, motivate and encourage older people to maintain quality of life.
- To support individuals with their emotional wellbeing, providing meaningful activities that engage older people, preventing isolation.
- To support in the domestic duties, promoting independence and ensuring food provisions are catered for and signposting to services that benefits the individual in all areas of that person’s wellbeing.
A full, clean driving licence and access to a suitably insured vehicle for work purposes are essential requirements for this role.
