Position: Registered Mental Nurse (RMN)

Location: The Hamlets, Liverpool

Pay: From £20.40 per hour

Contract Type: Week 1 36 Hours, Week 2 48 Hours

About Us: The Hamlets is a 30-bedded home providing care for older individuals with functional mental illness. As part of Age Concern Liverpool and Sefton, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care and enriching the lives of our residents. Our nursing staff play a pivotal role in our team, striving for excellence in care delivery.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse qualification (RGN/RMN) with current NMC registration.
  • Passion for providing high-quality care to older individuals with functional mental illness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to upholding regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
  • Experience working in a care home setting.
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure (required prior to commencement of employment).

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable to the Home Manager and Deputy Manager, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations in accordance with standards set by regulatory authorities.
  • Foster a home environment that prioritizes security, personal dignity, and privacy for each resident.
  • Lead by example, promoting individualized care and serving as a role model for care staff.
  • Maintain accurate personal records for each resident and act as Key Worker for a designated group, developing personalized care plans and risk assessments.
  • Regularly review and update care plans and risk assessments in collaboration with residents, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Oversee the administration and safekeeping of medications, maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Actively participate in daily activities of the home, including personal care, health, safety, and infection control.
  • Provide supervision and support to care/domestic staff as required.
  • Facilitate residents’ skill development and independence through guidance, education, and social support.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings, resident meetings, and required training sessions.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of Age Concern Liverpool & Sefton at all times.
  • Assume responsibility for efficient day-to-day operations in the absence of the Home Manager.
  • Participate in the on-call rota alongside other nursing staff.
  • Fulfil any additional duties as assigned by the Chief Executive of Age Concern Liverpool & Sefton.
