We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our team. As part of our kitchen team, you will play a vital role in supporting the preparation of nutritious meals for our residents, ensuring a clean and safe environment, and contributing to the overall smooth running of the kitchen. Working Hours:
This role is for 12 hours on weekends. Flexibility to work weekends is essential. Please note that we do not offer sponsorship for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
- Meal Preparation:Assist in preparing healthy and nutritious meals, following dietary guidelines and food safety protocols to ensure our residents receive the best care.
- Kitchen Cleanliness:Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and ensuring kitchen equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
- Stock Management:Help manage food stock by receiving deliveries, checking expiry dates, and rotating stock to ensure all ingredients are fresh and available.
- Food Safety:Adhere to all food safety practices, including proper storage, handling, and disposal of food to meet health and safety regulations.
- Resident Support:Work closely with the nurses and Registered Manager to ensure residents’ special dietary needs and preferences are met, providing them with a personalized dining experience.
- Team Support:Collaborate with both kitchen and care staff to ensure meals are prepared and served efficiently and contribute to a positive, supportive work environment.
- Record Keeping:Assist with maintaining accurate records for food inventory and meal details.
- Compliance with Policies:Follow all organizational procedures, including those related to health and safety, food hygiene, and safeguarding.
- Training and Development:Participate in required training to ensure continued professional development and regulatory compliance.
- Other Duties:Undertake additional tasks as required by the Kitchen Manager or Registered Manager to contribute to the smooth operation of the home.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service role is an advantage but not essential.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- A positive attitude and a desire to support our residents.
