Can you offer a few hours per week to help older people across Hampshire? Would you like to join a friendly, dedicated team? Are you looking for a role where you can work from home, as well as out in your local community? If yes, please read on.

We are looking for volunteers (x2) to join our Help at Home Service in Basingstoke and Locks Heath in order to support the service coordinators. You will be supporting with a range of administrative tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Responding to client enquiries over the phone and sometimes by email
  • Logging enquiries on our Charity Log (client management) system
  • Carrying out client service review calls

Therefore, good IT skills would be helpful. Training is provided. Other tasks may include:

  • Distributing posters in the local community to promote the Help at Home Service
  • Sending out emails to wider networks
  • Attending events with the coordinator

The hours for these roles are flexible but would ideally be within the hours of 9am-3pm on the following days: Mon/Tues/Weds for Basingstoke and Weds/Thurs/Fri for Locks Heath. You will be required to undertake induction training/update training/reading of policies. A DBS check will also be required.

Skills:

  • An excellent communicator, both in writing and orally (over the phone)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Car driver and use of own vehicle (mileage will be paid at 45p a mile)
  • Good IT skills – email; using the internet; Microsoft Office (Word; Excel)
  • Understanding

  • Works well both as part of a team and autonomously
