Overview
The position is authorized to establish a customs organization in the UK and Ireland on its own responsibility in consultation with the Foreign Trade Compliance EME Manager. All means of communication and measures necessary to achieve the objectives must be used while always complying with all relevant guidelines.
Your Impact
- Monitor and enforce adherence to customs and foreign trade regulations across all national facilities, including plants and warehouses in GB and IE.
- Supervise import/export activities and ensure accurate tax documentation.
- Analyse, refine, and design customs processes in collaboration with the Foreign Trade Compliance Manager EME, aiming for Europe‑wide standardisation.
- Create, maintain and update procedural, organisational and operational guidelines.
- Act as the primary contact for national authorities, service providers and internal teams regarding customs and foreign trade matters.
- Represent the organisation during audits and manage Intrastat reporting.
- Serve as SAP key user for ERP, TA e2open and other customs‑related applications.
- Oversee technical administration of software interfacing with authorities, maintain master data (e.g. customs tariff, dual‑use items, origin data – supported by shared service centre) and solve operational challenges.
- Lead internal training initiatives related to customs and foreign trade.
- Drive the development of the national customs organisation and enhance monitoring systems in alignment with European standards.
Your Experience and Qualifications
- Experience in operational customs clearance, preferential and non‑preferential origin, customs valuation, prohibitions and restrictions.
- Experience in customs administration (application/maintenance of permits, simplifications, deferments).
- Knowledge of British regulations affecting international trade.
- Process and IT affinity combined with creativity and an independent way of working.
- Willingness to continue learning.
