Job Purpose Statement: Lead a small team of retail staff and assume overall responsibility for the success of the store. Manage all operational aspects of the store whilst delivering the sales and EBITDA budgets through dynamic lead generation, monitoring and conversion as well as controlling store P&L.
Key Results Area: Activities and Deliverables:
- Customers: Follow through with customer enquiries to ensure that they are dealt with effectively and efficiently. Communicate the importance of excellent customer service and selling to the other team members. Ensure that a current and ongoing plan exists to improve service, and this plan is subject to regular review. Making sure that customers are made number one at all times.
- Successful Selling: Consistent active selling. Leads by example. Be a sales expert and support the team members in becoming sales experts. Identify customer opportunities and objections and offer suitable solutions. Actively up sell to the customer and coach team members on the importance of up selling. Coach and lead the team to turn service into selling. Continuous engagement of store team to drive a culture of service and selling using the various tools available throughout the store.
- Commercial Focus & Business Development: Drive sales to achieve/exceed set sales targets. Use all of the company tools and initiatives designed to improve Sales Performance. Maintaining an external commercial awareness. Ensure that a current and ongoing plan to improve sales performance exists, and that these plans are subject to regular review. Maximise all company promotions. Have an awareness of competitor activity. Devise, propose and implement a business plan incorporating a local marketing strategy, working within agreed budgets to achieve leads and sales required to meet/exceed set targets. Monitor and analyse the business plan and performance and implement changes to ensure consistent improvement is in place to meet/exceed agreed targets. Ensure that the store is merchandised for profit. Actively contribute to the Retail Team sharing ideas and best practice.
- Retail Operations: To ensure accurate stock records, stock counting and receipting of stock. To ensure the continued training of all store team members. Responsibility for the continuous delivery of store operating standards. Responsible for the delivery of all business processes. Act as an ambassador for the Brand. Responsible for the actioning and following up of all business requests and instructions. To comply at all times with all health and safety obligations.
- Staffing/Team: Ensuring appropriate controls to deliver effective staff deployment. Ensure that absence attendance management using accurate recording of the information is being actioned. To ensure that all team holidays are authorised and managed in accordance with company guidelines and also to ensure that operational flexibility is maintained. Have a clear process in place for performance management.
- People Leadership: Provide clear direction to retail store team, give open and honest feedback to all regarding behaviours. Communication – Delivering strong effective communication daily to all team members either in written or verbal format. Inspire challenge and stretch individual performance coaching all team members to reach their full potential. Identify future capability. Team Spirit – Motivating, coaching and encouraging. Give every team member the confidence to take part within the store team. Promote the need for a continuous learning and development culture within the store. Offer feedback and ideas to coach team members to improve selling skills. Takes ownership of own personal development plan including actively taking on wider roles through Divisional related initiatives/projects.
