The Aga Khan University Hospital, in addition to its five hospitals, creates access through its Outreach Services which include Clinical Laboratories, Outpatient Medical Centres, Pharmacy services, Home Health and other services. Outreach Services are designed to provide primary to secondary healthcare services to patients near their homes and are present in several cities across Pakistan. Outpatient Medical Centres offer a range of specialty clinics including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Cardiopulmonary, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics and Physiotherapy, catering to children, adults, and elderly patients for general health checks or specific disease consultations.
AKU invites applications for the position of Trainee Health Care Assistant for Home Health Care Services. This four-week traineeship programme is offered to prepare candidates for the Health Care Assistant position. Upon successful completion of the traineeship, incumbents will be provided a stipend.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and document patients' vital signs.
- Report oral intake and any other abnormalities to the supervisor.
- Provide hygiene care.
- Ensure to have consent and appropriate documentation in the consent form before initiating the services.
- Coordinate with safety and security department as required.
- Assess home environment for patient and staff personal safety.
- Provide supportive care / comfort care to patients at home (if applicable).
- Coordinate patient care and concerns with Home Health multidisciplinary team as required.
- Support a smooth transition of patients from hospital care into home care.
Requirements:
- Matric Science (Biology), Intermediate would be preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Willingness to work in shift duties.
