We have an exciting opportunity for a Goods In Operator to join the team in Cumbernauld! Come and join us at a time when we are investing in replacing our production lines with new equipment to ensure our production is as efficient as possible. In this fast-paced and varied role, we’ll give you the training and support needed to ensure you can excel at AG Barr.
Our one constant is our focus on safety - this is our number one priority. The Goods In Operator will be part of a team reporting to the Upstream Team Leader, providing effective and efficient site performance by managing all inbound/outbound material movements.
Your responsibilities:
- Receipt of stock - You will be tasked with verifying inbound and outbound deliveries.
- Site transfers - You will work with our external storage site daily, organising what material is required based on the weekly planning requirements to ensure our production lines are fully stocked with what they require.
- Stock control - This is a vital part of our process and to ensure we are operating efficiently we operate a first in first out process for all stock.
- Workplace Organisation - Ensuring a safe working environment you will be responsible for making sure all materials are stored safely in their designated areas. You will help maintain the production yard area to the required safety, environmental and housekeeping standards that we have on site.
What you’ll bring:
- A clear understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Experience in a Logistics/Warehousing function, ideally within FMCG.
- A working knowledge of health and safety best practices.
- Highly Competent IT skills and previous experience of working with JDE or similar systems would be beneficial.
- An FLT licence is highly desirable but training will be provided if needed (Counterbalance, ideally also Reach).
- Problem solving ability, adapting comfortably to rapidly changing circumstances.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Comfortable working with others, open in their dealings with colleagues, contributes to team cohesion and calls on others for help when needed.
- Plans and organises their work effectively, structuring and scheduling tasks appropriately. Takes a methodical approach to their work.
- Motivated by challenging, quantifiable targets. Ambitious and focused on delivering clearly defined objectives, drawing satisfaction from achieving their goals.
