What we’re looking for…
As Engineering Support Manager, you will drive technical compliance, bridge project delivery with factory operations, and safeguard our site engineering standards for all capital and site-led projects! Acting as the dedicated engineering representative at site project meetings, you will ensure every new asset meets our strict company standards, risk profiles, and statutory regulations prior to operational handover. Your responsibilities will include…
- Technical Compliance & Certification: Enforce compliance with company Management of Change (MOC ENG0019) standards, HS&E guidelines, and statutory regulations across all machinery and installations.
- Technical File Ownership: Manage, compile, and audit comprehensive Technical Files, ensuring all mechanical/electrical documentation and manuals are mapped into CMMS (Mainsaver / Ultimo) before handover.
- Capital Governance: Coordinate compliance across the Capital CEAP framework, ensuring project deliverables are rigorously reviewed and signed off at every stage of the lifecycle.
- Site Project Representation: Serve as the primary Engineering lead in all site-specific project meetings, proactively tracking and closing out technical, local, and installation issues.
- Handover & Operational Readiness: Facilitate smooth asset transitions to Operational Management, confirming SOPs, risk assessments, statutory compliance, and team training are complete prior to transfer.
- Issue Resolution & CI: Partner with OEMs, contractors, and local teams to clear pre- and post-commissioning snags using continuous improvement tools (5s, A3s, Fishbone, 5 WHYs) to optimise site OEE.
What you’ll bring...
- Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical core) combined with a recognized apprenticeship.
- Proven experience in FMCG, food, or beverage manufacturing with direct exposure to engineering compliance, commissioning and project documentation.
- Strong knowledge of machinery safety, risk assessment methodologies, technical compliance frameworks, and CDM 2015 regulations.
- Practical proficiency with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) like Mainsaver or Ultimo alongside strong IT and data skills.
- Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the ability to manage contractors and represent the department authoritatively across functional teams.
And it would also be great if you can demonstrate:
- An uncompromising "completer-finisher" mindset with sharp attention to detail when auditing technical drawings, dossiers, and safety files.
- A tenacious, structured approach to problem-solving, using analytical CI frameworks to resolve complex project snags and close documentation loops against tight timelines.
