What we’re looking for

We seek a dedicated and proactive Environmental Advisor to support operational teams at our Milton Keynes site in ensuring legal compliance, driving environmental improvement, and fostering a culture of responsibility.

  • Your Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance on environmental policies, statutory provisions, and best practices.
  • Engage site environmental committees, conduct environmental walks, and promote sustainability across the site.
  • Maintain legal registers, ensure full compliance with Waste Duty of Care, and manage environmental site inspections.
  • Support day‑to‑day management of the ISO 14001 system and implement updates required by ISO 14001:2026.
  • Lead environmental audits, workplace inspections, and support corrective actions for both internal and external audits.
  • Gather and analyse environmental data for reporting, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Investigate environmental incidents, recommend root‑cause analysis and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
  • Prepare and deliver environmental alerts, briefings, training sessions, and mock drills.
  • Promote a positive environmental culture across AG Barr and coordinate with the central sustainability team.
  • What you’ll bring
  • Industry experience in environmental discipline within fast‑paced food, soft‑drinks manufacturing, or logistics/distribution environments.
  • Professional qualification or degree in environmental studies (e. g., CIEH, NEBOSH, IEMA/ISEP) with demonstrated technical membership and ongoing CPD.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental legislation and experience managing permits (PPC/EASR, Waste Duty of Care, F‑Gas).
  • Strong engagement, communication and interpersonal skills to influence colleagues at all levels.
  • PC and systems literacy, including experience with HSMS INTELEX.
  • Experience implementing and supporting ISO 14001.
  • Analytical mindset for data collection, trend analysis, and performance reporting.
  • Proactive problem‑solving skills and a commitment to improving emergency response procedures.
