Description
Beaumaris Dairies is seeking a Farm Assistant/Herd Manager to join our 650-cow operation located just 8km from Lincoln, Canterbury. You'll work with a modern 50-bale internal rotary dairy and help manage a large-scale feeding system, utilising both pasture and a 700-cow concrete feed pad. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their skills in dairy farming, with training and development available onsite.
Requirements
- At least one year of dairy farming experience
- Reliability, motivation, and willingness to develop skills within the industry
- Full driver's licence
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand
- Available for an in-person interview
Responsibilities
- Carry out daily milking and milk harvesting routines
- Assist with stock movements and herd feeding
- Support pasture management, irrigation, and effluent management
- Monitor animal health and assist with reproductive and youngstock management
- Help maintain machinery, equipment, and farm infrastructure
- Carry out weed control and contribute to a safe working environment
