Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Residential Care Worker based in Southport. The Residential Care Worker will be responsible for providing day‑to‑day support to young people, fostering a safe and nurturing environment. Responsibilities include implementing individualized care plans, assisting with daily routines, engaging in activities to promote personal development, and supporting educational and emotional needs. The role also involves maintaining clear records, coordinating with other professionals, and ensuring compliance with care standards and safeguarding protocols.

Qualifications

  • Experience or knowledge related to child care, youth development, or social work
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviors with empathy, patience, and resilience
  • Organizational skills, including record‑keeping and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Understanding of child protection and safeguarding practices
  • Basic knowledge or willingness to learn therapeutic care approaches
  • Relevant qualifications in health and social care or related fields are a plus
