This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Southport for a Children's Home Registered Manager. The role involves providing day‑to‑day leadership and management of the home, ensuring that young people receive high‑quality, person‑centred care in line with regulatory standards and organisational policies.

The Registered Manager will oversee staff recruitment, supervision, training, and performance, creating a positive, child‑focused culture and a safe, supportive environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing care plans
  • Ensuring robust safeguarding practices
  • Managing budgets and resources
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Preparing for inspections

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience managing or deputising in a children’s residential care setting, with a strong understanding of therapeutic, trauma‑informed, and person‑centred approaches.
  • In‑depth knowledge of safeguarding, children’s homes regulations, Ofsted requirements, and relevant legislation, with the ability to ensure full compliance in daily practice.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including staff supervision, team development, performance management, and the ability to build a positive, resilient team culture.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities, enabling effective collaboration with young people, families, local authorities, and external professionals.
  • Competence in care planning, risk assessment, record keeping, and report writing, with attention to detail and a focus on quality and accountability.
  • Sound organisational and operational skills, including budgeting, rota management, and problem‑solving in a busy residential environment.
  • Relevant qualification such as Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards this within regulatory timeframes).
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and to promoting the rights, voice, and participation of young people in decisions that affect them.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours when required, including participation in on‑call arrangements to support the home.
